Health & Safety
Camp Highlander upholds the highest health and safety standards. As an accredited ACA camp (American Camp Association), we comply with the top industry standards of safe and professional practices in all areas of camp operation such as site, health and safety, food service, staff and programming.
The Camp Highlander Health Hut is staffed by two resident Registered Nurses, 24 hours a day. Our nurses administer daily medications to our campers and provide professional health care. We are located four miles from our on-call doctor, eight miles from an Urgent Care facility and 15 miles from Pardee Memorial Hospital for any emergency situation. Your child’s health and safety is top priority at Highlander.
Outdoor exercise, fresh mountain air and appetizing and nutritious meals all contribute to a glow of good health. Campers dine in a spacious, modern hall and are served complete, balanced meals planned and prepared by a professional staff. A fresh fruit and salad bar is available during every lunch and dinner, as well as a variety of cereals and peanut butter and jelly at all three meals. We provide two snacks throughout the day and an “apple cart” in the afternoon.
